They recently consolidated the and into one site. is a member of a group of sites which include, and some golf related sites. I am impressed with how well the wood and finish still look and that the cushions are still playing like new. I am now going back and recovering or moving tables that I set up years ago. One of the advantages I have is being able to see how the tables hold up after three, five or even ten years of use. Spencer Marston tables do hold up well over time. I understand they are more common in the Southeast USA and I hope I never have to move there. It is the only table they sell that uses a one piece slate and it uses a special weather resistant cloth that is very difficult to stretch. I have only set up one and it was a huge pain. It is a little difficult to work on, particularly leveling the slate and installing the bed cloth, because the slate sits down inside the table frame, but they always end up looking good. It is a regulation size pool table with a matching dining top which allows you to have a pool table even if your house has limited room. The Dining table has been a very popular pool table recently. They are available in both traditional and modern designs and are priced similarly to the metal bracket style. The side panels bolt into the sides of the leg, combined with the double crossbeam construction, these tables are built like tanks. In this style, the leg goes from the floor to the slate. This is my preferred style, it is as sturdy as they come. Almost all import tables use this style of assembly. It takes a little longer to get it all aligned properly and it does allow for some possible movement or “wobble” in the frame if not aligned properly. The leg is then attached to the frame with a bolt through this same metal bracket. In this style the four side panels are joined together my a metal bracket in the corners. This is found on about half of their pool tables. The first I will call the metal corner bracket and the second I will call the interlocking leg. There are two styles of table construction for Spencer Marston. By contrast Brunswick and Olhausen use just a two short crossbeam construction. They use a rigid crossbeam construction with two short crossbeams and two long crossbeams. They use 3 piece, one inch slate with a mdf backer so you can staple the cloth on. Like every other major pool table manufacturer, Spencer Marston makes 7′, 8′, and 9′ pool tables. There are very few American made tables, even the Brunswick “Authentic American” has been made overseas for decades.

What most retail stores don’t tell you is that more than likely they sell at least one line of table that is imported. They use the same accessory kits and table cloth as the local retail stores. Their cushion rubber has held up as well as anyone else’s. and Spencer Marston pool tables are very good tables. With it will go their expertise and services that you can’t buy online. And there is the fact that if customers buy everything online, than these stores will continue to disappear. I’m not going to say they are completely wrong either, there have been some poorly made tables sold online over the years.
Retail billiard stores love to bash the “internet”, “import”, or “Chinese” pool tables. They also have top notch customer service. Some models are better designed than others, but the quality and price cannot be beat. Overall I would give them a rating of 9 out of 10. I have set up every model they make, including the dining table and the outdoor table. I have personally set up hundreds of Spencer Marston pool tables for. I am currently still part of their installer network. They were bought out not too long after by.

I started installing Spencer Marston pool tables in 2008 for a company called BilliardEx.
